Consider the full unit cost, not just the pouch price.
CBD brand planning often starts with print costs. An informed decision includes all major elements: goods sourcing, packaging, design, filling, quality and labelling costs, transport, and your own storage, marketing and distribution costs.
It is particularly important to separate one-off development costs from ongoing costs per unit sold . A new brand identity or additional artwork may involve a larger initial expense. Some development tasks may not recur on repeat orders, provided the design remains unchanged and technically usable.
Multiple layouts change the economics.
Five strains in five different pouch designs cannot automatically be costed like a large run of one layout. Separate designs, sizes or materials may require different production batches and setup work. An economically sensible quantity therefore cannot be specified universally.
Filling also matters: are you supplying your own flowers and finished pouches, or do you also need design, printing, portioning, sealing and shipping? These questions determine the service and cost structure.
Start small or scale immediately?
To test the market, a compact range with few layouts may make sense. With established repeat B2B buyers, other quantities and variants may be more economical. We discuss realistic reordering and potential expansion alongside the initial run.
